Description:
Pulled pork is a dish made from slow-smoked pork that is then shredded. It is popular in the Southern United States. Pulled pork is typically made from pork shoulder or pork butt and is smoked over hickory or oak wood. Pulled pork is often served with barbecue sauce and can be eaten on hamburger buns, in salads, or in sandwiches.
Ingredients:
2 kg pork shoulder (bone-in and skin-on)
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup salt
1/4 cup paprika
1/4 cup cumin
1/4 cup garlic powder
1/4 cup onion powder
1/4 cup black pepper
1 cup apple cider vinegar
1 cup water
Instructions:
In a bowl, combine the brown sugar, salt, paprika, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, and pepper.
Rub the spice mixture all over the pork.
Place the pork in a baking dish and pour the apple cider vinegar and water over it.
Cover the baking dish with foil and bake the pork at 120°C (250°F) for 8-10 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 90°C (195°F).
Remove the pork from the oven and let it rest for 30 minutes.
Shred the pork with two forks and serve with barbecue sauce.
Tips:
You can use pork butt instead of pork shoulder.
You can use hickory or oak wood chips for smoking.
Pulled pork can be stored in the refrigerator for 3-4 days or frozen.
