Stuffed Peppers: A Treasure of Hungarian Flavors

Stuffed peppers is one of the most popular and beloved dishes in Hungarian cuisine. It is made with peppers stuffed with a filling of ground meat, rice, and spices, then served with tomato sauce for a true flavor bomb. Ingredients:

    6 green peppers

    500 g ground meat (pork, beef, mixed)

    100 g rice

    1 onion

    2 cloves garlic

    salt

    pepper

    paprika

    1 tablespoon oil

    500 ml tomato puree

    250 ml sour cream

 

Instructions:

    Cut off the tops of the peppers and remove the seeds.

    Cook the rice.

    Chop the onion and crush the garlic.

    In a bowl, combine the ground meat, rice, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, and paprika.

    Stuff the peppers with the filling.

    Heat oil in a pot and fry the stuffed peppers.

    Pour in tomato puree and simmer until tender.

    Mix the sour cream until smooth with a little sauce taken from the stuffed peppers and add to the stuffed peppers.

 

Tips:

    Stuffed peppers can be served with mashed potatoes, rice, fried potatoes, salad, or pickles to taste.

    You can add mushrooms, peppers, eggs, and cheese to the filling to taste.

    You can season the tomato sauce with chili peppers, marjoram, and basil to taste.
