Pot Goulash: The Taste of Hungarian Tradition

Ingredients:
800 g beef (chuck roast, stewing meat)
2 onions
4 cloves garlic
2 tablespoons lard
1 tablespoon paprika
1 kg potatoes
2 tomatoes
1 green pepper
1 bay leaf
10 cloves
1 teaspoon whole peppercorns
salt
water
1 bunch parsley
Instructions:
Cut the beef into cubes.
Chop the onions and crush the garlic.
Heat the lard in the cauldron and fry the onions.
Add the garlic and paprika and fry briefly.
Add the beef and fry until browned.
Season with salt and pepper and add water.
Cover and simmer the meat over low heat until tender.
Add the diced potatoes, tomatoes, green pepper, bay leaf, cloves and peppercorns.
Continue cooking until the potatoes are soft.
Season with parsley.
Tips:
You can serve dumplings, noodles, spaetzle or fresh bread with pot goulash to taste.
You can also season the pot goulash with sour cream.
Pot goulash can be prepared in a cauldron over an open fire, but also on a gas stove.
