Description:
Lecsó is one of the most famous and beloved dishes of Hungarian cuisine. It is made with peppers, tomatoes, onions, and sausage, and served with eggs for a true feast of flavors. Lecsó evokes the taste of Hungarian summer, full of the flavor of sun-ripened vegetables and the smoky taste of sausage.
Ingredients:
500 g peppers
500 g tomatoes
200 g onions
200 g sausage
2 tablespoons oil
salt
pepper
paprika
4 eggs
Instructions:
Wash and chop the peppers and tomatoes.
Chop the onions.
Slice the sausage into rings.
Heat oil in a pot and fry the onions.
Add the sausage and fry for another 1-2 minutes.
Add the peppers, tomatoes, salt, pepper, and paprika to the pot.
Pour in water and simmer, covered, for 30-40 minutes, or until the vegetables are soft.
Beat the eggs in a bowl.
Pour the eggs into the lecsó and mix.
Cook for another 2-3 minutes, or until the eggs are cooked.
Tips:
Lecsó can be served with sour cream and fresh bread to taste.
You can use bacon instead of sausage.
