How to Make Thai Khao Moo Daeng

Ingredients:
2.2 pounds pork shoulder
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
1/4 teaspoon ground pepper
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup rice vinegar
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup salt
1/4 cup chopped red onion
1/4 cup chopped cilantro leaves
Instructions:
Marinating: In a bowl, combine the olive oil, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, ginger, garlic powder, coriander, and pepper. Place the pork shoulder in the marinade and turn to coat all sides. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for 2-4 hours.
Roasting: Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Place the marinated pork shoulder in a baking dish and pour half of the marinade over it. Roast the meat for 1-1.5 hours, or until cooked through.
Sauce: In a saucepan, combine the water, rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
Serving: Slice the pork shoulder thinly. Serve with rice, the sauce, red onion, and cilantro leaves.
Tips:
You can marinate the meat for longer for a more intense flavor.
The cooking time may vary depending on the size of the pork shoulder.
