How to Make German Schweinebraten

Ingredients:

    2.2 pounds pork shoulder

    1 tablespoon olive oil

    1 teaspoon salt

    1/2 teaspoon pepper

    1/2 teaspoon marjoram

    1/2 teaspoon caraway seeds

    1 clove garlic, minced

    1/4 cup fresh parsley leaves

 

Instructions:

    Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).

    Brush the pork shoulder with olive oil.

    Season the meat with salt, pepper, marjoram, caraway seeds, and garlic.

    Place the parsley leaves on top of the meat.

    Roll up the meat into a tight cylinder.

    Place the roll in a baking dish.

    Roast the meat for 1-1.5 hours, or until cooked through.

 

Tips:

    You can score the skin of the meat to make it even crispier.

    You can add other spices to the stuffing, to taste.

    Schweinebraten can be served fresh with roasted potatoes, cabbage salad, or dumplings.
